What’s your primary style? Posed and formal, relaxed, photojournalistic, creative, artistic, candid, traditional?

As you can see from my website, I'm a bit of everything! But I have been refining my style over the last five years and have noticed a "film" trend to my photos. I have a deep appreciation for tradition as it is timeless and classic - when it's done right. I'm also HUGE fan of the vintage look. I LOVE to capture that candid moment between you and your fiance, or you and your family! I think there is also dash of modern photojournalism in my work influences are quite broad, and as such, so are my photos.  

Honestly, someone once asked me why I do photography as a living (funny story- Jude Law was the person to ask, in one of my many crazy dreams....). I am first a painter/drawer, which takes TONS of time and patience and discipline, and I feel like photography gives me the opportunity to complete mini masterpieces in a short amount of time. 


What kind of input can we have on the direction of the shots? Can we give you a shot list to work from?

I am ALL for your input! I love getting neat ideas from the bridal party or families and meshing my talent with them! Those are some of the most fun photos!  But I don't believe you need to sit down and create a list, as that is exactly why you're hiring me. I believe you've hired me because you trust my creative input and direction. But one easy way to let me know what type of shots you'd like is actually sending me links to some of your favourites! It gives me a great idea of what you'd like to see and helps out immensely to make sure you get what you're looking for! 


Are you the wedding photographer who will actually take our pictures? If not, can we meet the person who will be?

I AM the photographer that will actually be taking your photos. All the work that you see on my website is 100% mine! :)


Does the photographer use an assistant or a second shooter? Is there an extra charge for this?

As of 2012, TVP will occasionally  be working with an assistant or a second shooter. There is no fee for my assistants, however there is a fee for the second shooter. (Please see the "Investment" tab for more details).

Please know that I am totally comfortable working on my own and have been doing it successfully for four years now, but I highly recommend a second shooter. Two heads are always better than one and among other things having a second shooter on your wedding day always gives you loads of extra shots that I wouldn't have been able to capture on my own. :)


How many times have you worked specifically as a wedding photographer? How many were similar to the size and formality of our wedding?

Tricia Victoria Photography books an average of about 20+ weddings per year. (Give or take a few). So I have photographed 100+ weddings. Most weddings follow along the same general outlines, but any wedding can be photographed.


How many other events will you also photograph the weekend of my wedding?

I am usually so bagged from the wedding that I try and do NO other work. It's sometimes difficult as weekends are prime time for most people, but on average your wedding will be the only thing I photograph the entire weekend. 


What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, other equipment or assistants be?

I bring with me a set of studio lighting to light up your reception perfectly - room size/type pending. I set them up to be as out of the way as possible, but they aren't invisible and can be noticeable. They are extremely good to have at a reception - it changes the photo quality tenfold. So they are worth any inconvenience - I promise. But if you absolutely insist, I can work off of an external flash that attaches to my camera and is much less obvious.  


How long until I have my photo's?

It honestly depends on how busy I am and the time of year. If I am in the heat of wedding season, it can take up to three months. If your wedding falls under the off season, I'm usually finished within two weeks of your big day. 
Family/Maternity/Glamour - typically two weeks after we meet to pick out your photos, you'll have your disk. 

How quickly should I book you?

Quite quickly. I book up for weddings EXTREMELY fast. I am usually fully booked by October for the following year. So if you want me, don't delay!! :)


Should I provide lunch or dinner for you at my reception?

You are not obligated to provide dinner for me at your reception, however, if none is provided I will require 1 hour to go and grab dinner myself. This may leave room for shots missed as I will not be there to capture those "moments" while I'm eating. 

What is your deposit and refund policy?

As per the contract you would sign - the deposit is non-refundable. 
There are no refunds on any package unless otherwise stated in the contract.


What type of camera will the photographer use?

I currently use a Canon 5D Mark III. I have multiple lenses that I can use during the day, including a 70-200mm, 24-70mm and an 85mm.


Will there be backup equipment available? 

Yes. I have a backup Canon 5D Mark II along with other lenses. 


Can other people take photos while you are taking photos?

Yes, as long as there are NOT in my way. First and foremost, make me a priority. You did not pay other people to photograph your big day, you paid me. So let me do my job! :)
